Health Access is our community’s response to the plight of the uninsured.

Health Access was founded in 1992 by a local physician, Dr. Lou Ortenzio, who recognized that many in the community lacked access to essential primary medical care and prescription medications because they did not have insurance and could not afford the cost of healthcare.

With funds from the Harrison County Medical Association, the United Way, and a cadre of volunteers, a free clinic in Clarksburg was born.
